| Our recent Minneapolis shows celebrated over a decade of music from various branches on the same musical family tree. Before Semisonic there was Trip Shakespeare, which included Dan, John, Dan’s brother Matt, and the “wicked percussion hands” of Elaine Harris. (Elaine was unavailable for these shows, so I got to play the tricky Trip Shakespeare drum parts!) Then came Semisonic. More recently, John and Matt have recorded and performed as the Flops while Dan has been busy recording his upcoming solo release. We took fifteen years of music and crammed it into two shows at First Avenue. It wasn’t easy to do. |
