Big Night at the GRAMMYs!
On Sunday, February 11th, Dan Wilson took home the Grammy for Song Of The Year! He won the prize for "Not Ready To Make Nice" which he co-wrote with the Dixie Chicks and they released on the CD "Taking The Long Way".
Closing Time was nominated for Rock Song of the Year in 1999.

DAN WILSON UP FOR SONG OF THE YEAR GRAMMY
Semisonic singer/guitarist and main songwriter is up for "Song of the Year" in this year's Grammy Awards. The nomination is for "Not Ready to Make Nice", co-written by DW and the Dixie Chicks for their 2006 release, "Taking the Long Way." You can find the song and the video for it on Youtube.com. This is Dan's second Grammy nomination. The first was in 1999 for Best Rock Song for - what else? - "Closing Time." This year's Grammies will be awarded in a televised program on February 11th. The Dixie Chicks are part of the scheduled entertainment at the program and will perform another song written with DW, "The Long Way Around," during the telecast.

Semisonic reunites for a hometown gig at the Minneapolis Aquatennial Block Party, July 14th. The trio, who have been busily collaborating with each other on everything BUT Semisonic, will fire up the amps and drums for a hot summer evening of rock and roll. See you there!

JAKE'S RADIO APPEARANCE RE-AIRS
Listen in as the "Upper Room with Joe Kelley" reairs an in-studio appearance by drummer JAKE SLICHTER of Semisonic. Jake was a founding member of the Minneapolis band, Semisonic, who had a worldwide smash hit with "Closing Time" and recently a critically-acclaimed CD, "All About Chemistry". He is also an accomplished writer, who will be releasing a new book in late June. During the interview, they spun songs from several Minneapolis bands including Semisonic, Husker Du, The Replacements, Trip Shakespeare, and some preview songs of the upcoming Dan Wilson solo CD.

3/4 of A Trip Shakespeare Reunion?
On December 12th and 13th, Semisonic takes
the stage at First Avenue, the famous Minneapolis nightclub. Joining the trio for
the show will be Matt Wilson, brother of Semi's Dan Wilson and the leader and
songwriter of the legendary Minneapolis folk/psychedelic rock band Trip
Shakespeare. Early in the show, John Munson and Matt Wilson will be the Flops, and
Dan Wilson and friends will play music from his solo recording project. At the
end of Semisonic's set, as a special treat for both you and Semisonic, Munson,
the Wilson brothers, and Jacob Slichter will end the night with a mighty
batch of Trip Shakespeare songs and a few other choice gems.

NEW MUSIC FROM DAN WILSON!
Dan has a new song, entitled "Willie The King", on the upcoming
children's album, "For The Kids". Nettwerk America joins forces with the VH1
Save The Music Foundation and musical artists to restore music education
programs in the U.S. public school system . Contributions include Sarah
McLachlan's version of the Kermit classic "Rainbow Connection", the Tom
Waits' original lullaby "Bend Down The Branches", and other tracks from
artists such as John Ondrasik of Five for Fighting, Sixpence None the Richer
and Remy Zero. The album is scheduled for release on November 5.
